FRC Rookie Grant Deadline: The deadline to submit an application for the 2014 rookie grant provided by the Argosy Foundation along with other generous supporters of FIRST is Friday, 11/8/13 at 12 noon ET. Engineering Our Future video contest by Rockwell Automation: The deadline to submit a video for the Rockwell Automation “Engineering Our Future” contest has been extended to Monday, 11/11/13. FIRST® teams participating in FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL), FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC) and FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC) are eligible to submit for the video contest. Create and submit a 60 seconds or less video with the answer to the question: “What could your team engineer that would have a positive impact on your community and our world?”. Rockwell Automation will award up to $10,000 in team grants! Robot Transport Exemptions (formerly known as Bag & Tag Exemptions): For the 2014 season, we have renamed Bag & Tag Exemptions to Robot Transport Exemptions in an effort to make it clear that all teams requesting an exemption must still bag and tag their robots on Stop Build Day.
If bringing your robot to a competition event presents your team with a substantial hardship – for example, if your team needs to travel a great distance or cross an ocean to get to your event - you may request a Robot Transport Exemption by sending an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
In your request, please include as much detail as possible to support why an exemption is required. Please use the subject line: Robot Transport Exemption Request, Team XXXX, with your team number in place of “XXXX” in your email. Exemption requests must be submitted by Friday, 12/6/13.
Chairman’s Award, FIRST Dean’s List Award, Woodie Flowers Award and Entrepreneurship Award Submissions open Thursday, 11/14/13 at 12 pm (noon) ET: The Chairman’s Award, the Woodie Flowers Award, and the Entrepreneurship Award must be submitted via STIMS: https://my.usfirst.org/stims/site.lasso. The Main or Alternate contact for your team must assign at least one (1) and up to four (4) student award submitters in FRC TIMS: https://my.usfirst.org/frc/tims/site.lasso.

- Autodesk To make it easier for teams to design the next great robot, FIRST has partnered with Autodesk, to provide Autodesk® Design Academy 2014 software licenses to schools who have a FIRST program. The Autodesk grant program is designed to help inspire students to develop a lifelong love for design and prepare them for successful careers. The software will be available free* to schools that have an active and registered FIRST team for the 2013/2014 competition year. The grant provides access to Autodesk software that can be used to support extracurricular competition programs as well as in classroom use. Teachers can apply for an Autodesk software grant on behalf of their school by completing a simple grant request form or learn more about the Autodesk grant program read the Autodesk Grant Resource Guide.
