FRC Rookie Grant Opportunity: FIRST is excited to announce a new funding opportunity exclusively available to Rookie teams participating in the 2014 FRC season! This funding has been provided by the Argosy Foundation along with other generous supporters of FIRST. The deadline to submit an application for this grant opportunity is Friday, 11/8/13 at 12 noon ET.

Engineering Our Future video contest by Rockwell Automation: The deadline to submit a video for the Rockwell Automation “Engineering Our Future” contest has been extended to Monday, 11/11/13.  FIRST® teams participating in FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL), FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC) and FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC) are eligible to submit for the video contest. Create and submit a 60 seconds or less video with the answer to the question: “What could your team engineer that would have a positive impact on your community and our world?” Rockwell Automation will award up to $10,000 in team grants! Finance Reminder: The payment deadline for teams’ initial regional or district events is Friday, 12/6/13.  If you are planning on submitting a Purchase Order to secure your registration, please fax (603-206-2079) or email ( it to our Finance Department as soon as possible, as this will give your school district 30 days to mail a check to FIRST by the payment deadline.  Securing your registration will ensure that your Kit of Parts is shipped to your Kickoff location.

Bag & Tag Exemptions:  If bringing your robot to a competition event presents your team with a substantial hardship – for example, if your team needs to travel a great distance or cross an ocean to get to your event - you may request a bag and tag exemption by sending an email to:

In your request, please include as much detail as possible to support why an exemption is required. Please use the subject line: Bag and Tag Exemption Request, Team XXXX, with your team number in place of “XXXX” in your email. Exemption requests must be submitted by Friday, 12/6/13.

2014 Mentor Certificate of Appreciation: Main contacts, be sure to invite all of your FRC Mentors to register in TIMS for their 2014 recognition certificate and pin to be sent in January during National Mentor Month.
