Bill Blogged - Where does the time go?
05/17/2012 Bill Blogged - Where does the time go?
Good Afternoon Teams,
I’ve neglected the blog recently because I’ve been focusing on other projects. Please keep an eye out for email blasts sent to all FRC teams with information and updates on those issues. If, for any reason, you aren’t receiving the FRC email blasts, you can find them on the FRC Team Email Blast Feed Page of our website.
In other news, the FRC end of season surveys will be announced in an email blast to teams today. We encourage all FRC teams to participate in the end of year surveys as your input is invaluable to us. Please encourage your team main contact to check his or her email and distribute the survey links as directed.
Here’s what our Kit of Parts Manager had to say about the Kit of Parts survey:
While the 2012 Kit of Parts (KoP) is still fresh in your mind, we’d like to get your thoughts about it. Team feedback in the past years about the FRC KoP has been thoughtful, constructive, and important to the process so we’re asking that you take some time to provide your opinions again.
The 2012 FRC KoP survey is now live. Please direct two different members of your team: the student team captain & one technical mentor to this survey and ask them to complete it on your team’s behalf. The survey will be live until 11:45pm on Friday, June 15, 2012.
At the Kit Happens FRC Live presentation hosted at the FIRST Championship, we mentioned that we were working to make the KoP survey much shorter in 2012 than in previous years. It is shorter, but after talking with suppliers during Championship, we decided to leave most of the survey in-tact. We (the FRC KoP team and the suppliers) are very interested in the data on specific parts, as that information can help drive future offerings in the KoP.

We appreciate your feedback and intend to use it to improve the KoP and the 2013 FRC season.
Tomorrow is the deadline for the US Air Force Leadership Training opportunity. As of this morning we have 202 applications. Is one of them yours?
If you’re looking for something to do during the off season, check out the 2012 Google Lunar X PRIZE LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Challenge for students ages 9-17. Phase one is happening now.
FRC mentors are invited to participate in a study by a doctoral candidate at Capella University who is researching the value of robotics as an educational and professional skill building tool. :
234 days until Kickoff
See you then!
