Application Process

Want to attend an event? Select your area for the info on how to apply to one.

Applying to Jr.FLL Events

Events for Jr.FLL teams are not hosted by FIRST or the Jr.FLL program. Find a Jr.FLL event in your area by contacting the event organizers. Or, host your own Jr.FLL event.

Applying to FLL Events Globally

The FLL Championship tournament application process varies by country and region, so check the Event listing or the FLL Country Forums to determine how your team can apply. In some cases there is a limited site capacity and an application does not guarantee acceptance at a tournament. Many countries require teams to complete team information prior to applying for an event. Teams accepted to a championship tournament will be required to pay an entry fee determined by the tournament.

Search the listing of confirmed FLL Championship tournaments. New events are being added every day, so if you don’t see an event in your area or need more information, check back or find your Regional Contact.

See also the FIRST LEGO League Coaches' Handbook, Chapter 7 for additional information about tournaments.

Many events require all team members and volunteers with the team, provide a completed consent and release form for each event they attend, so please check with your event organizer.

Applying to FLL Events in U.S. or Canada

Many events accept applications only through mid-October. Please check your event for application deadlines!

Many FLL Partners coordinate their own application process, so review the event details from the Event listings to determine how your team can apply. Be sure that your team’s contact information in your team profile is up-to-date and complete before applying for a tournament. It is required as part of the tournament application process and will also allow you to receive important FLL updates during the season.

Please note that new events are being added every day. If you don’t see an event in your area or need more information, check back or ask your Regional Contact.

Due to limited site capacity at some events, an application does not guarantee acceptance at a tournament. Teams accepted to a tournament will be required to pay an entry fee determined by the tournament partner.

See also the FIRST LEGO League Coaches' Handbook, Chapter 7 for additional information about tournaments.

All team members, coaches, and volunteers with the team must provide a completed Consent and Release form (.pdf) for each event they attend. You can also download the Consent and Release form in Spanish (.pdf).

Note: Teams are only eligible to win an award at the first Championship tournament they attend. Please use the honor system if you attend more than one Championship tournament.
