Please clarify the part of the project assignment that says “Find another community somewhere in the world with the same issue.”

The Project’s intent is to have each team find another community which is facing a similar issue/problem caused by climate.  The other community does not have to have the same climate, but it may.  The issue/problem does not need to have the same effects in each of the two communities, but it can.  For example, too much rainfall in a warm climate could cause soil erosion, whereas too much wind in a colder climate may also cause soil erosion.  The issue/problem of soil erosion is the same, but the effects that issue/problem cause(s) can be different, or the same.

The idea, after looking at the solutions that are presently used for the issue/problem in your own and the other community, is to come up with an innovative solution in your own community to address the issue/problem. It may be that your solution could work in that other community however this is not required.
