FRC Blogged - Where Do You Want To Be?
Take a look at the photo. This is a shot inside the NASA control room during the recent landing of the rover Curiosity on mars. In the center of the photo, holding his glasses, is FRC supporter and volunteer extraordinaire Dave Lavery, NASA Program Executive, Solar System Exploration. (Photo: NASA/Bill Ingalls).
If you’re a student on an FRC team, where do you want to be in 10, 15, or 20 years? How about sitting with a team of experts in a control room at NASA, helping to land one of the most sophisticated robots ever built, using a landing system even the designers sometimes thought was a little ‘crazy’? Think about what’s important to you, set goals, work hard, make a difference, and you can be there. Maybe in some FRC blog years in the future we’ll include a photo of you as you help us take the next great step forward.
In case you haven’t seen it, here is the moment when the Curiosity team realized their creation had landed safely on Mars after a 354 million mile journey:
(Keep a close eye out for the individual who started celebrating a few seconds before everyone else. I wonder how he knew?)
Huge congratulations to Dave and the entire Curiosity crew!
