Welcome to the FIRST Scholarship Program
Many colleges, universities, professional associations, and corporations offer college scholarships to high school participants on FIRST teams. This is official recognition of the knowledge, technical and life skills you have gained as a participant in a FIRST program. The vast majority of FIRST Scholarships are available for students to apply to in their senior year of high school, as a 'rising FIRST alumnus'. The FIRST Scholarship Program is one of the programs that is offered to FIRST rising, or current, alumni.
Are funded and administered by the Scholarship Providers (colleges, universities, corporations, etc.), not by FIRST
Each have unique eligibility requirements, deadline dates, and application procedures
Are usually for use at a specific provider college or university, but a few can be used at any school
Are typically merit-based, and cover a broad range of scholastic abilities
Are not just for Engineering majors - roughly 35% of FIRST Scholarships can be used for any course of study
Vary from one-time awards of $500 to full four-year tuition (estimated at $160,000)
