FTC 2009 World Championship

FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) would like to send a huge thank you all of our dedicated Affiliate Partners, volunteers, coaches, and mentors. We would not be the program we are today without your tireless and unfailing dedication!

The 2008 FTC season ended on a high note. With a final team count of 986 and over 40 official qualifiers and championship tournament events, FTC grew 23 percent!  FTC staff and a few dedicated volunteers traveled to nearly every FTC event this season and were astounded by the level of creative design and engineering skill displayed by each team. CoopertitionTM was at an all-time high this season.

The FTC World Championship took place at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia and was by far the most exciting and successful event we have ever had. One hundred veteran and rookie teams brought an entirely new level of energy to the event and an incredible group of volunteers worked together to make our very tight schedule a big success. The FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship Inspire Award, recognizing excellence in robot design and teamwork, went to Team 32 “Einstein’s Daughters”, an all-female team from San Diego, California. The 2009 season does not officially kick off until Saturday, September 12, 2009; however, registration is open now. The program registration fee is still $275. Registration can be completed online. Stay tuned to our website for more information.
