VirginiaFIRST AwardRichTech, central Virginia’s technology association, honored several local organizations and individuals that are actively helping advance the region’s technology-based economy. More than 550 people attended the Technology Stars gala, held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. This year’s awards recognized individual accomplishments, corporate wins, non-profit success stories, innovators in their field, and small businesses.

Pattie Cook, FIRST Regional Director for the Washington, DC region (right, accepting award for VirginiaFIRST), said, “It was a wonderful surprise. How fitting it was to receive a ‘chairman’s award’ for VirginiaFIRST’s work in this region. We are pleased to be recognized as an organization that is helping advance technology and innovation in the area.”

The Chairman’s Award is presented annually to an individual or organization that has made a significant impact on the growth of technology in this region, and/or the advancement of Greater Richmond as a center for technology innovation. This award recognizes results that are the product of great leadership, great execution, great process implementation, great innovative ideas, and great talent.
